Program Introduction :
FINDING ARTS IN CHINA is a cultural and artistic learning experience project aimed at young people worldwide. It aims to promote dialogues and understandings among young people globally through cultural and artistic learning and co-creation, and to advance mutual learning among civilizations and cultural exchanges. The program is initiated by Nanjing University of the Arts, which is located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of six dynasties of China.
The Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA), stands as one of the earliest independently established and continuously operating institutions for higher art education in China, with a history spanning over a century. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, and a university included in Jiangsu Province’s High-Level University Development Plan, with its comprehensive strength in artistic disciplines consistently ranking among the top among universities nationwide.NUA currently comprises 16 schools, including the School of Fine Arts and Calligraphy, the School of Music, the School of Design, the School of Drama and Film Studies, the School of Dance, the School of Media Arts and Communication, the School of Modern Music and Technology, the School of Industrial Design, the School of Humanities and Museum Studies (Art Research Institute), the School of Cultural Industries, the School of Digital Arts, the School of Higher Vocational Education and Continue Education, the School of International Education,etc,.boasting a total enrollment of over 12,000 students and a faculty and staff exceeding 1,150.
The program, lasting for one week, is scheduled during “520 Graduation Exhibition Carnival” of the Nanjing University of the Arts. During the program, all performance and exhibitions channels of NUA will be open to participants. It includes special experience units and interesting lectures:
• Artists guided tour
• Fashion shows
• Appreciation of traditional Chinese music performances
• Appreciation of Chinese calligraphy and traditional painting
• Digital arts and visual communication.
In addition to on-campus learning, there is also a city cultural experience unit. The program is equipped with learning experience partners, and participants can immerse themselves in the study and experience of Chinese culture and arts with the assistance of the students volunteers. They can gain an in-depth understanding of the style of Nanjing, the ancient capital of six dynasties, and discover and explore the connection between culture, art, and the sustainable development of Chinese cities.
